Hello - We are Shiro and Atsuko Akahori, the parents of Taku Akahori who participated in and 100% enjoyed your Summer Baseball Camp held on the week of August 9. We are from Japan and arrived in the USA late May this year. Taku is ten years old, but had never learned English in Japan. He understands and speaks English very little although he took a four-week summer ESOL class before the summer camp.
As you may understand, our concern was if he would enjoy playing baseball, or even would refuse to go to the summer camp. However, the concern was totally incorrect, very fortunately. Thanks to all the excellent endeavors made by the summer camp coaches and staff, our son Taku undoubtedly was willing to go the summer camp every day and now he misses it a lot.
I was unable to have chances to see him playing and enjoying in person, but he told me almost everything he experience every day. We would especially like to highlight that the coaches were so kind and nice to him. A couple of examples are:
(1) the coaches prepared several pieces of paper listening some words, phrases, and baseball terms with Japanese translation markups;
(2) the coaches got Taku a special award with a Japanese word "sayonara" - which means "see you" in English - handwritten on the back of the bumper sticker.
We would like to extend our sincerest thanks again for your kindest help and greatest support to Taku throughout the summer camp. We and Taku cordially look forward to another opportunity to participate in Headfirst Baseball activities and see you again soon.

I just wanted to add my thanks for 2 great weeks of camp for David. I think I passed this on to you, Rob, but I wanted to say again how impressive a group of counselors you have - very nice, polite, and genuinely friendly. They're such terrific role models for the kids. And even what I heard during only the few minutes before pick up the past few weeks made it clear that the consistent message of Headfirst was a primary focus at camp - being a team player and giving maximum effort. You both communicate so well with kids, and I'm very grateful for all that you're teaching David.

Grant had a terrific time yesterday at your After School program. And Scott was thoroughly impressed with not only the baseball part of your program but more importantly your message to the kids about sportsmanship and fair play! When looking for a program for Grant, I had read about your belief in teaching not only baseball but about the bigger picture of respect and good sportsmanship for oneself and others. I am so please that you not only write about it on your web site but actually practice it in real life. Thank you for providing what I believe will be an excellent all around learning experience for our son Grant.

Just wanted to thank you and all the coaches for a fantastic fall season. Jimmy had the best time and learned so much! The coaching from a parent's point of view was refreshing! It's great to see that coaching can we done without yelling at the kids and I as a mom really appreciate that.

Thanks for everything you've done for these kids this season. I hope you know how much this organization means to so many of them. Small case-in-point: whenever Niko has "free dress" days at STA, he invariably wears his Headfirst shirt - almost as a way of saying, "Now THIS is who I am." And it's not every day that a boy's heroes also rank high on a mom's list. But you guys do, day in and out.

I just want to take a moment to say that this is a first class Camp! It provided for more than I had ever expected. The mentoring was most valuable and the entire coaching staff should be commended. My sons were in the 4 to 5 year old group for one week in June. I do expect to have them in a two week all day camp next summer (will not stay to watch this time).
I trust you and your staff with my children. Please continue doing what you do. You guys will add so much to the future of many boys and girls who participate in your Camp's experience. Thank you so much. BRAVO!!
